The last few months have been quite a whirlwind! I'll completely admit that most of it was due to things that I have chosen to do. In July we moved into a new home, we are very blessed! The best part about moving in my eyes, (besides more space!) is that I have a completely blank slate to decorate. Our last home was very colorful much like our new one... what can I say, both my husband and I love color! Not just any old colors, but bold, bright, and fun colors! I like the feeling I have while cooking dinner in a cheery kitchen, just seems to make it more fun! Putting color on the walls is definitely the way I make our house feel like home. I have discovered I have two sides to me, 1. I love fun rooms, you know like polka dots and stripes! 2. I love and desire rooms to look classy, I just think they are gorgeous! So in our new place I have done my best to combine my two styles, I will leave it up to you to see how you think it turned out. When we moved in, EVERYTHING was white....so not us! White ceiling, white walls, and even white (or what used to be white) carpet. Our landlords (aka my parents) are amazing! I am so thankful to be able to paint in the manner that I have while yet only renting....Thanks Mom & Dad! : ) They replaced the carpet which has been great since Lola plays and lays on it all day. I realize that I have been pushing myself like crazy to get our home "finished." I wanted to unpack all of our stuff into a clean environment, and not put it into dirty cupboards and then later have to take it all out to clean it, only to then put it all away again! So it only made sense to me to just work hard and get everything the way I would like it right off the bat, and that is exactly how Lola and I have spent our last 3 1/2 months. I am happy to report we are on the verge of being done, yay! :) I am thrilled with how everything has turned out....I realize my style is not everyones style....but regardless, I hope you enjoy!So now that you have a little background on our mission these last few months, I will show you what we've done! I started with Lola's room. It took me a little bit to decide how I wanted to go about decorating her room...she is the girliest little girl I know, and I wanted her room to match! After looking through design books I finally found what I was looking for.

Working on the accent wall was fun! It took only a few days. William (my husband) measured out the entire accent wall for me and then we taped the diamonds, it was a pretty easy process if you have someone who can measure perfectly. First I painted the light pink diamonds, let them dry, re-taped the second set of diamonds and painted them orange. Now this was my first "I hate it" moment! I loved the orange when I tested out my colors first, and still think it could be fun, but not what I envisioned. Once the orange was in the diamonds it just didn't turn out looking right, remember that whole classy & fun thing? This ended up much more fun & circus.

So let after letting the orange dry and stewing over the fact that I didnt like it, I went back to my original plan of some of the diamonds being black, and I immediately loved it :) Wanna see?

The theme I chose for her room was hot pink, light pink, black, and black and white polka dotted items as the accent...I still need to make her curtains, I bought some really great black and white polka dotted fabric and hope to make them soon....so stay tuned!
Up next, Lola's bathroom! I knew I wanted it to complement her room since her bathroom and bedroom are connected. There were some glass doors on the tub which William took down, it was just too hard to give a toddler a bath when you can only reach half the tub at a time, so we opted to put up a
shower curtain instead. I looked for a long time for a shower curtain that I liked and finally found one! I painted the walls the same pink as her room, and then decided to keep with the black and white accents but not polka dots. I also repainted the cabinetry white just to modernize it and bring the look together.Lola's bathroom before:
